With its new spring/summer collection 2012 GELCO presents new summery and fresh ideas for the active, fashion-orientated woman - a relaxed yet feminine look. Modern and highly attractive styles perfect for a mix and match within
the themes and strong individual items at the same time.
The colours
Spring coming into full blossom, the mute colours of the cooler season are shifted into the background, and a more summery colour palette comes to the fore. The first theme already brightens up the basic colours taupe, platinum grey and nightblue with fresh accents in flattering soft pink shades, nautical variations of blue and as a special highlight with dégradés of coral. The second collection for delivery February onwards compliments this new freshness with white, black and navy as well as a strong pink, a luminiscent turquoise, poppy red and a crisp lemon. Besides these strong and fresh colours the collection presents sophisticated natural shades such as khaki and mocca as a harmonious complementation of the themes.
The fabrics
The main focus is placed on a light and casual spring/summer look 2012 which is underlined by the diverse fabrics. Soft viscose and tencel blends as well as the new fibre "bamboo" with a nice and dry touch are as important as high -quality linen fabrics which are the typical and popular summer classics. Luminiscent surfaces in super-light and semitransparent qualities are created by the discreet use of metal yarns in new textures thus lending themselves to new effects. Jersey remains important in innovative weights and new techniques such as multi-coloured cloqués. One of the manifold novelties is the cool pigment garment dye, creating a highly attractive vintage look adding to the elegant handwriting of the theme. Feminity is added by a whole palette of stunning flowery prints as well as dots and animal prints.
Styling
The summer introduces itself less "tailored" and shows a more casual and feminine look with ideal combinations for every day. Suited jackets present themselves with casual details. Long tops such as jackets, blouses and t-shirts are important basic pieces for the perfect outfit. The silhouette remains flattering. Sophisticated details add to the elegant look. Tie details add to sporty effects.
The comeback of the BLAZER is the story of a sensational success. A perfect partner for all occasions, business or non-business. Casual, unlined styles as well as the popular jersey jacket complete the new look and create a perfect shape together with skirt, pants and dress. Long jackets up to 82 cm are gaining importance and add to femininity with only litte and discrete masculine details. An interesting material mix and new patch ideas lend themselves to a variety of jacket interpretations. Another focus is placed on the lining and piping options.
The skirt in all its variety of shapes remains the outstanding feature of the feminine look. The main focus is on the slightly less voluminous 68 cm length with a smaller seam width. The silhouette becomes slimmer. Important components are jersey and patch ideas.
By contrast trousers become wider. Flare and bootcut gain importance, whereas the pipe is still popular, being the perfect partner for all longer jackets. According to personal taste shorter versions of trousers are on offer, even in bermuda-length, in strong colours like fuchsia and red. Moreover, the casual "chino" as flat-front and with mini pleats is among the winners of the season. The blouse stays successful and can be seen in a huge variety, less crushed and embellished but in diverse patterns like stripes, dots and checks. This product group convinces by a whole bunch of materials, ideal for mixing and matching like patches, burn-outs and laces in all their beauty. A must are the strong and fresh prints with a main focus on floral motives, also in combination with graphic patterns, as well as the popular animal print. Ribbons, studs and applications compliment the big choice. Thus the blouse remains a strong individual piece.
The t-shirt has also much to offer. Tunics in the new length of 72 cm as well as jersey cardigans with matching camisoles, t-shirts in a layered look or as the flattering two-in- one effect - the big variety comes up to every taste and demand. They were and still are the ideal partner for any outfit in the summery casual look. Lovely patch ideas, a mix of prints and materials and last but not least colourful allover prints. The still strong knitted items from the first themes will become less important for the later deliveries, the sweater enjoying a comeback after all those seasons with the strong and dominating cardigan. A new look is created by inside-out prints, many new qualities, tape-yarn, space-dye effects and others. Of course outerwear jackets and -gilets compliment the themes in the matching colours and details of the theme.
